Axioma is currently seeking a Research Associate to work on the design and development of equity risk models in our Research department in our Atlanta office.
Responsibilities:
The primary job responsibility is to work with senior members of the Research team on the research and development of equity risk models for various markets. Additionally, the candidate will work with Product Development teams on the integration of our risk models and risk model construction platform with our risk analysis, performance attribution, and portfolio construction software platform. The candidate must have strong quantitative skills and an advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or engineering. The candidate must be proficient in development with Python and have excellent analytical abilities. The position is expected to be at least fifty percent software development.
The ideal candidate should have excellent software development and communication skills.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python (Experience with numpy package).
- Experience with SQL.
- At least 2 years of software development experience (exclusive of academic work).
- M.S. or Ph.D. in financial econometrics, statistics, or other quantitative finance field with strong knowledge of multivariate statistics and times-series modeling.
Other Skills: (Candidates having the following skills and experience will be given highest consideration.)
- Experience in the financial services industry with responsibilities similar to those described here.
- Experience in commercial software development.
- Experience working with financial data in a relational database.

Analyst, Finance & OperationsAxioma is looking for an Analyst/Associate to support a broad range of finance and operating activities. The position is based in New York, reports directly to the CFO and will provide exposure to many aspects of a fast-growing software business. Key Responsibilities
- Finance/Accounting:
- Participate in the accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of internal management reports including I/S, B/S & CF. Perform variance analysis and trend analysis. Prepare quarterly financial statements for investors, and assist external accountants with the preparation of annual fiscal year financial statements for the U.S.-based parent company and several foreign subsidiaries.
- Assist with general ledger and accounting functions and direct the timeliness and quality of the monthly close.
- Strategic Planning:
- Assist with the strategic planning process and the annual budgeting process. Oversee the production of reports and other analyses related to the consolidated annual budget and forecast cycles. Develop, model and analyze various budget scenarios, business plans, and project assessments including equity/debt financing and mergers & acquisitions.
- Operations Management & Analysis:
- Conduct operational analysis and reporting. Identify business drivers and major components of operational risk. Support existing and new processes through the design, development and distribution of performance reports. Analyze and summarize historical transaction data. Develop forecasts to plan and predict future business performance.
- Analyze and redesign internal business processes. Map as-is and to-be processes focusing on inputs, activities, outputs, and key performance metrics. Research industry best practices and incorporate them across a spectrum of business activities. Review/implement technology solutions that enable better business practices. Prepare recommendations for changes/improvements in policies, procedures and controls.
- Ensure operational compliance with contractual obligations. Design and implement policies and procedures for tracking contractual obligations and verifying operational compliance. Serve as a key liaison between the Company and our customers and strategic partners.
- Miscellaneous:
- Support CFO and senior management team in ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications And Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, MBA preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Outstanding attention to detail with numbers (analysis and reporting)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
